DIY Bohemian Garland
🎪 DIY Bohemian Garland
It depends on the type of festival, but the first thing that comes to mind is probably music from everywhere all day, nights in Indian tents, a bottle of beer under lots of garlands decoration. So, here is how to make a bohemian style garland using fabrics or ribbons and lighting.
🎪 What You Need
Fabric Ribbons or Any Fabric Scraps
Yarn or String
Tape Measure
Scissors
🎪 Directions
Cut the fabric into many strips around 2.5cm in width and 30-40cm in length.
Prepare string or yarn in the length of the garland you like.
Fold the fabric strips in half and pull the end of the string through the loop.
Pull the knot tight so that it doesn't come loose. Then repeat 'step 3' with the rest.
If you want to make it fuller, hang the fabric strips more and tighter.
TIP. It looks even prettier to hang fairy lights on the garland together!
DIY Fringe Pillow
🎪 DIY Fringe Pillow
It's a simple way to change the mood using the pillows that you hug or lay on while watching TV. All you need is yarns and a crochet hook. You can make various unique designs using different shapes, thicknesses, and lengths of yarns.
🎪 What You Need
Yarn in Various Thickness and Colors
Loose Weave Woven Pillow
Crochet Hook
Scissors
🎪 Directions
Plan out your design roughly for how to attach yarns.
Cut the yarn pieces long enough to double the length you want them on the pillow.
Push your hook into the hole by pulling up a pillow thread where you want to attach it.
Fold the yarn piece in half to form a loop and hang it on the hook that you just pulled into the pillow.
Pull the hook and thread the yarn into the pillow. Then pull the tails of the yarn through the loop.
After threading all the yarn pieces according to your design, trim the yarn with scissors.
DIY Mini Wood Pallet Coaster
🎪 DIY Mini Wood Pallet Coaster
It's a small, cute mini-pallet coaster made in the shape of a pallet, usually found in large warehouses, outdoor performances, and events. It is so cute and holds running water on the surface of an icy cup. Aren't those enough reasons to make it? 😁 Since you need only popsicle sticks and disposable wooden chopsticks to make it would be great for upcycling.🌱
🎪 What You Need
Popsicle Sticks
Disposable Wooden Chopsticks
Glue Gun
Scissors
Wood Stain (or Acrylic Paint)
Stencil Mask
Paint Sponge
🎪 Directions
Cut disposable wooden chopsticks into about 6cm pieces and prepare 3 pieces.
Prepare 8 pieces of popsicle sticks cutting into about 6cm.
Apply wood stain to cut wood pieces to create natural, rough pallet textures. (You can mix brown and black acrylic paint.)
Spread 3 pieces of wooden chopsticks at regular intervals as shown in the picture and glue 4 pieces of popsicle sticks on them with a glue gun.
Flip over and attach the remaining 4 pieces to the other side.
Place the stencil mask on the desired position on the coaster and dab the sponge picking up a small amount of acrylic paint over the stencil mask.
DIY Bleach Tie-Dye Wall Blanket
🎪 DIY Bleach Tie-Dye Wall Blanket
This DIY Bleach Tie-Dye Wall Blanket is the art of chance. Tie-Dye is a dyeing method that consists of twisting or crumpling the fabric and binding it with string before dyeing. When you untie and unfold it, various patterns will appear as you tied. It's such beautiful work, but! It takes a lot of work to dye a blanket or cloth at home, and you need to buy dye color, which you might use only once. 😅 So, let's try tie-dye with bleach, which is easy to handle!
🎪 What You Need
Blanket or Large Fabric
Bleach
Rubber Gloves
Rubber Band or Thick White Strings
Sauce Bottle
Large Bowl
🎪 Directions
Twist or roll the fabric tightly with a rubber band. (If you want circular patterns, pinch the center of the fabric and turn it in one direction. Then tighten it with a rubber band.)
Mix bleach and water in a 1:1 ratio and pour into a sauce bottle. Then apply bleach carefully around the rubber bands. (Don't forget to wear gloves for your safety.)
Let it sit for a while to allow the bleach to fade the color completely. (Leave for 10 to 15 minutes to have the color lightly, or 12 hours to allow pull color away completely.)
Cut off the rubber bands, unroll your fabric, rinse well in clean water before washing and drying.
DIY Doily Lamp
🎪 DIY Doily Lamp
Many people use small light bulbs in various ways nowadays, such as customizing standard lampshades or making new ones to cover the bulb. With doilies paper, wood glue, and balloons, you can make a great lampshade easily. Above all, the unique pattern of doilies makes your walls look beautiful when you turn on the light. Instead of paper doilies, you can use lace doilies to last longer by applying more wood glue and drying them.
🎪 What You Need
Wood Glue (or Wallpaper Glue)
Balloon
Paper Doilies
🎪 Directions
Blow up the balloon to the size you want.
Apply wood glue on doilies thinly and place them on the balloon.
Cover the balloon entirely with doilies, then reapply wood glue on it. (Leave the part where the light bulb will go in.))
Let it dry completely. (It usually takes one to three days to dry completely.)
After it's all dried up, pop the balloon and put a light bulb in it.
In this post, we've shared some simple and easy DIY ideas with bohemian style.
These would go well with the shining sunlight and the high and clear sky.
So you should try it before the end of summer!✨
