🌳🌿🍀🌲🌱 June, the middle of the year, is already here, and I want more to go outside as trees are getting greener these days. It would be great if we have this freshness a bit longer, but thinking of the rainy season that's coming soon makes me sad already.

So, why don't we move this fresh feeling of green plants to home before the rainy season hits?

Let's find out more about a planterior for natural green home styling that can beat trendy cafes with a large botanical garden, a small park in front of the house, and a pretty garden.

🙋‍♀️ I believe I've heard of it, but I don't really know... What's the planterior?

planterior-1

Planterior, a combination of the word plant and interior decoration, is to decorate the space using plants.

Not only can you change the ambiance without any skilly, but it also has a lot of benefits such as purifying air, humidifying, and giving psychological stability, so it became popular to grow plants at home.

🙋‍♀️ Well, I get it's good, but please let me know more!

planterior-2

One of the best benefits of planterior is that they eliminate toxins from the air and filter fine dust. That's why they are getting more attention.

Plants also absorb radiation and noise and control humidity. So, having plants can purify the air and make space fresh. Furthermore, green plants bring a comfortable atmosphere to ease your mind and help you stay more focused by even just looking at them.🤗

You can have your healing spot with a planterior when it is hard to reach nature like these days.

Above all, the reason planterior is one of the best home styling ideas is that you cannot be fail. You can decorate the space amazingly even without professional interior skills(You need to learn about plants, though.), without design insight, without spacious areas, and without spending a lot of money.

🙋‍♀️ Where should I place the plants?

If it is a low-maintenance plant that's not delicate to sunlight, it doesn't matter where you put it. But there are more suitable areas for each plant.

Living rooms and bedrooms are probably the most common places where people put plants. For these areas, plants that require less sunlight and water would be good options.

A plant with big leaves is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of planterior! That is Monstera.

Monstera is a plant that is often recommended for planterior because it grows pretty well without any special care.

Areca Palm and Philodendron Hope Selloum that absorb EMF radiation are also great for the living room and bedroom, where there are many electronic devices such as TVs and computers. Especially, Areca Palm is the top air-purifying plant ranked by NASA, which removes chemical toxins from the air. It also controls humidity, making it an excellent natural humidifier.

Boston Ferns, Stuckyi, Philodendron Birkin, and Rubber Plants are good plants for purifying the air.

If space has a warm mood, Rubber Tree or Philodendron Birkin with large leaves is good. And, Boston Ferns or Stuckyi are great options If it is a more modern and neat ambiance!

Next, it is about plants that go well with any other spaces in the house, not in the living room and bedroom.

It is good to have a Devil's Ivy in the kitchen where you can hesitate to put plants. Devil's Ivy doesn't need much sunlight and is resistant to pests. It also removes carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Besides, mint, basil, and any kinds of herbs that you can use right away while cooking are also good choices

Tiny Areas

If you're looking for plants for a tiny area, there's nothing like hanging plants on a wall or ceiling.

One of the most common hanging plants is Spanish Moss(Tillandsia), with interesting curly beardlike leave. Although it is vulnerable to cold weather, it is best to grow indoors during winter since it purifies the air and controls humidity.

And Dischidia, with attractive stems hanging down and circular leaves, is also as much preferred as Spanish Moss with its low maintenance and vitality.

These hanging plants are becoming more popular because it is a safe way to do planterior even for homes with pets and children! 👀

Tip 2.

You can create a unique mood by laying small pots with other items on the shelf or dangling the hanging plants from the window or ceiling.

Tip 3.

It is also good to use products made of rattan, macrame, or wood. Setting plants with these materials creates an exotic resorts environment as if you are somewhere in Southeast Asia.

Tip 5.

If you leave a spot or window empty and place a flowerpot visibly, it brings a calm and warm ambiance. Also, it is a great idea to have a small indoor garden area with different plants in one space, creating a refreshing mood.

These are some tips on planterior. If you have a good environment where plants can grow well, there are no right or wrong rules. So try various ways and find what you want.

🙋‍♀️Isn't that tough to take care of them?

Most of the plants described above are easy to take care of, but you should still control watering, temperature, sunlight, ventilation, and humidity when you grow plants. Identify the perfect environment for each plant and maintain it well so it can grow well. Also, keep in mind to check regularly and give nutritional supplements to prevent insects and pests. Some plants are toxic, so make sure to check them out if you have pets or children!✅

🙋‍♀️Still, I don't think I could take good care of them. 😥

If your house doesn't have a lot of sunlight or you're not comfortable taking care of them, try artificial plants. Indeed, even I didn't like the fake one that much before because it obviously looked fake. But, there are so numerous kinds of artificial plants that look real these days, so it will be a good option for those who can't grow plants.

Get artificial flower pots, plants with large leaves like Monstera, or dry flowers and put them on different pots or vases to style your home. If the space is tiny, you can put faux hanging plants on a shelf, or even hanging plant posters or photos on the wall refreshes the mood of the room.

The plants in the post, 'DIY Faux Ceramic Vases' were actually artificial plants bought from a dollar store.😎

Haven't you seen it yet?
