I've traveled to many countries, but I don't think I've ever seen the autumn sky as much pretty as in Korea. I feel a bit sad because this beautiful fall is getting shorter. Don't you agree? So today, I'm going to talk about some pumpkin menus that are more delicious in the fall.
🍂 Things Come to Mind When Thinking of Autumn
Yellow ginkgo leaves, maple leaves showing off their red colors, a gentle autumn breeze, fleecy clouds in the high sky, a book opened under it, and peaceful music in my ear....... These would be some of the first things that come to mind thinking of autumn. Don't you feel autumn just thinking about it? But what comes to my mind first are not those but is PUMPKIN! The orange-colored sweetness.
In Korea, you probably see pumpkins only for Halloween or making pumpkin porridge. But they are everywhere in New York from October. Streets and markets are filled with all kinds of pumpkins and pumpkin-based foods, such as pie, soup, biscuits, and even pasta. So you can only see pumpkins all over the place.
🍂 Best PUMPKIN Menus
Pumpkin Spice Latte, which you can see at Starbucks for a while only in October(in Korea), you've heard of it at least once even if you haven't tried it. In the United States, when the pumpkin spice latte is back on sale at Starbucks, it means autumn has come, so it is a symbolic drink of autumn. They typically have the pumpkin spice latte from October to the end of November. Also, almost every cafe, not only Starbucks, has it on their menu during the season since that is so popular.
When it comes to pumpkins, the most popular menu above all would be a pumpkin pie. It's not the menu you often see in Korea, but many dessert cafes are famous for pumpkin pie these days. So it became easier to have than before. And the recipe isn't as complicated as you might think(it still takes a lot of work...😅). If you like cooking, it would be great you bake plenty of it and share it with your friends and family.
Is it hard to go to a cafe, and you're not a good baker? For those people, I will let you know the place I recently discovered and tried. It is a place called Mozldi in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do, where they make homemade pumpkin pies that are carefully baked one by one from crust to pumpkin filling.
🍂 The Sweet and Smooth Taste that Editor L Fell in Love with
The day Mozldi pumpkin pie, which looked even better with its rustic look from hand-baked, arrived at the office, the autumn sky was so high, and the sunlight was so warm just in time. I had a sweet break with Editor L after setting up the pumpkin pie under a tree with leaves turned in beautiful autumn colors, where the sun was gleaming at the terrace in the office.
Since Mozldi's pumpkin pie amplifies the sweet flavor of the pumpkin itself, those who don't have a sweet tooth will love it. Some pumpkin pies are not easy to eat with strong fragrances of spices. But Mozldi pumpkin pie creates a subtle flavor with only cinnamon. Plus, crispy crust and walnuts add a rich taste. Everything is balanced perfectly with sweetness, nutty flavor, and aroma. Editor L, who is not a fan of pumpkins and tried pumpkin pie for the first time, also really loved it.
There's nothing like a pumpkin spice latte to taste better pumpkin pie, but it was not on sale any longer in Korea. However, it would be a shame to have it with an Americano that I drink every single day. So! Editor K's second pick is the Dirty Chai Latte. Dirty chai latte is a chai latte with espresso shots. You can ask for an espresso shot while ordering a chai latte. It means you can order it anywhere that has chai latte, not only at Starbucks. If you like cinnamon and milk tea, I recommend this mild dirty chai latte, blended well with the chai spice and coffee flavor. Paring with pumpkin pie, the flavors from the two harmonize and make the pie and latte even more delicate. (However, if you are not a fan of sweets, I recommend black tea such as earl grey tea rather than a sweet chai latte.)
