Brunch becomes very common for us even to call it a special meal anymore.

But it has its distinctiveness and uniqueness as we identify brunch cafes, brunch menus, etc.! 🍞🧈

Especially when we get lazy on weekends or holidays, we like to have brunch rather than the regular meal we have every day. If you're into cooking, it won't be a big deal to prepare a fancy brunch quickly, but I'm sure many people aren't. Also, even for those who enjoy cooking, there will be days when you are not feeling it. So, I got some of the best brunch cafes(Note: All of them are in Seoul, Korea) for those who can't cook or want an exceptional brunch when you don't want to do anything at all.

Oh! Before that, let's look at what brunch is briefly.👩‍🍳

▶ Read this if you...

✔ want to wake up last on the weekend and have a relaxing time.

✔ want to spend the day in a pretty space after doing home styling.

✔ want to enjoy a day at home like being in a cafe.

👩‍🏫 How much do you know about brunch?

Brunch, as you know, is a combination of breakfast and lunch. It is usually served between 10 am and midday with alcoholic drinks such as champagne and cocktails. Many people believe that the term 'brunch' is a new word in modern society. But, in fact, the term 'brunch' originated in England in the 19th century and became widely known in the United States in the 1930s.

Sex and the city Brunch

In Korea, brunch is also known as a favorite food for the main roles in the TV show, 'Sex and the City.'😁

Brunch Food

Brunch usually consists of ingredients commonly used in breakfast, such as egg 🥚, sausage 🌭, bacon 🥓, ham 🥩, fruits 🍒, bread 🍞, pancake 🥞, waffle 🧇, scone 🍪, etc. The menus vary from country to country, and there are tons of different kinds of menus!

Some of the most well-known menus include toast with butter & jams, french toast, salmon bagel sandwiches(popular brunch menus in New York), egg benedict, omelet, frittata(omelet-like Italian egg dishes), quiche lorraine(french tart with egg, whipped cream, bacon), pancakes, waffles, and salads.

Brunch Drinks

As I mention above, brunch is served with alcoholic drinks. The most popular drinks are bloody mary(a cocktail containing vodka, tomato juice, and other spices and flavorings), champagne, Irish coffee(a cocktail consisting of hot coffee and Irish whiskey at a ratio of 3:2, and topped with cream), mimosa(sparkling wine cocktail composed of champagne and orange juice), and spritzer(Austrian cocktail made with white wine and sparkling water.). However, many people have brunch with non-alcoholic drinks, such as coffee, herbal tea, and fruit juice.
